“As parents ourselves we understand how important it is to choose the right nursery for you and your little one. We also understand how difficult it is to leave your child in the care of someone new. Finding the perfect fit is important, We’ve worked hard to ensure that JollyTots has something to offer everyone.” – Nursery Manager

Before choosing Jollytots, we encourage you to come and look around our nursery with your child. This enables us to show you our fantastic facilities, and gives you the opportunity to meet our brilliant Jollytots team.

If, after a look around, Jollytots feels like the right fit (and we very much hope it does), we will then arrange a two-hour settling-in session for your child. This taster session is offered to help your child get used to the nursery, so they feel happy and secure on their official first day. Please be assured that if your child becomes distressed during this time, and we are unable to distract them, we will call you right away to come back to the nursery.

You are also welcome to ring the nursery as many times as you like during your child’s first few weeks and we will call/text you regularly to put your mind at rest that they are happy and having fun. We are always available to chat about any concerns you may have, as well as being on hand to offer support and guidance.

Our parent notice board is situated in the main entrance and offers a selection of different information for parents, including:

• Photos of the children playing and having fun

• Our weekly menu

• Our CIW registration certificate and other umbrella organisation member certificates

• Our food hygiene rating

• Our staff photo board

Things we ask you to provide before your little one starts:

• Nappy cream

• Formula/breast milk (if required)

• A comforter (if required)

• A change of clothes that are clearly labelled (more than one if your child is being potty trained)

• A pair of wellies and suitable outdoor clothing

• Sun cream and a sun hat (during the warmer months)

During the day your child will be involved in activities that can be a little bit messy. Although we provide aprons, their clothes may get dirty, so please do not send them into nursery in their best clothes.

'A child's early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, full of fun and secure'

At Jollytots, we aim to help children get the best possible start in life, which will enable them to develop and reach their full potential irrespective of ethnicity, culture, religious beliefs, home language, family backgrounds, learning difficulties, disabilities or gender.

Here at Jollytots, we welcome children with special educational/additional needs, providing we can meet and accommodate the individual needs of your child. Wherever necessary we will seek additional support and assistance from outside agencies to enable your child to integrate fully and access all the fun play opportunities we offer.

All visitors to the nursery must sign in and out and be escorted by a member of staff while on the premises. The nursery has a ‘no mobile phone’ policy so visitors will be asked to keep their phones in their pockets/bags.

A copy of all Jollytots Day Nursery policies and procedures are kept in each of the children’s rooms, and are available to all parents/carers. You are encouraged to read through the policies and procedures prior to your child starting. If you would like a copy of individual policies please ask the nursery manager, who will email any of the policies on request.

Our menus are changed weekly to ensure the children get to try new dishes. You will find a copy of our menus in the entrance area.
